coolant troubles

hi folks,just joined website.got a gixer 750 k7 in black,and its a brilliant bike.had a 1000k5 which had more stomp but the 750 handles better and iv had no probs going just as fast on straights and better on corners.anyway iv got a prob you guys may help me with.iv changed my coolant but my bike seems to run hotter.i must have an air lock so was wondering is there a bleed screw iv missed somewhere,thanks,mark

Welcome Slipstream I'm not really conversant with the later model 750s but I'd imagine all the bleed nipples would be obvious.
How much hotter does it run just a few degrees or is it more substantial, i ask because if you've swapped from a coolant to distilled water that wouls make a slight difference.

I really doubt it is an air block.

Just a thought, you have mixed 50/50 distilled water and coolent?

If you only put straight coolant in it will run hotter as it is designed to be diluted to suit different climates - you only need pure coolent if you live on a Greenland ice pack.

If might be an air lock, try squeezing the large bore coolant hoses when the engine'e warm - that may pump the air out.
