Accident at Stage 7 leg, connecting Bénichar to Amodjar in Mauritania, was neutralized at the refuelling checkpoint at kilometre 241 due to an accident that occurred shortly before 1pm.

The incident took place in a particularly challenging section of the racecourse, known for its unforgiving terrain and harsh conditions.

The Africa Eco Race is not just a test of speed, but also endurance, navigation, and the ability to overcome unpredictable challenges that can arise at any moment.

One of the organization’s light aircraft, during take-off and for a technical reason still unknown, collided with the truck positioned to refuel the competitors.

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in the accident…

The injured party is the Italian rider No. 58, Andrea Perfetti (RS Moto Honda CRF250 RS2).

Following the accident, Andrea Perfetti was quickly transported. With a medical vehicle already on site, the injured rider was quickly attended to before being airlifted by helicopter to the nearest hospital!

Early reports indicate that while Perfetti sustained injuries in the crash, his condition is stable. The details of his injuries remain unclear, but updates suggest that he is being closely monitored by medical professionals.

The mobilization of aerial rescue resources forced the race management to neutralize the stage.
