FIM Supersport World Championship rider Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) rode his Ninja ZX-6R 636 to tenth place in the opening race of the weekend in Most.

Saturday 17 May witnessed a dry race after an opening day of mixed weather. This weather had provided Jeremy and many other riders with challenging track conditions. They had to try and find an optimal race set-up.

Having started 13th on the Race One grid, after suffering a fall in the Superpole Qualifying session at the end of Friday 16 May, Jeremy fought hard in the first race. It was cool and overcast conditions.

The last lap of Race One was truly competitive for Jeremy. He tried to move up from the tenth place he had been occupying for three laps.

The Spanish rider finished at the back of a four rider bunch. He was just over a tenth of a second from a top seven finish at the twisting 4.212km long Czech circuit.

There will be a second Most WorldSSP race for Alcoba and his rivals to compete in, on Sunday 18 May. Race Two is scheduled to run to 19 laps.

Jeremy Alcoba stated:

“The race, at the end, was good. In the beginning I struggled a little bit as the set-up was pushing a lot and it felt nervous. When the tyre dropped and the fuel level was reduced I started to feel much better. As a result, I started to make fast laps. I was catching the group in front but it was not enough. I am happy because the feeling at the end of the race was positive. If we start tomorrow like we finished today, I think we can make a really good Race Two.”
