He presents one of his most evocative creations to date: the BMW R nine T “GULF.”

A Tribute on Wheels
Few colour combinations evoke as much passion as the sky blue and orange of Gulf Racing. This legendary sponsor is known for racing cars like the Ford GT40 and Porsche 917.
That inspiration is the basis of this spectacular BMW, where every curve and every detail exudes motorsport history, reminiscent of Lord Drake Kustoms’ excellence.
It is not just a pretty paint job… The R nine T “GULF” has been redesigned from the ground up with a clear, sporty vision.
“We wanted this bike to have character, so that when you saw it go by, you knew it wasn’t just another one,” explains Fran Manen (owner of Lord Drake Kustoms).
Total Transformation
The work begins with a semi-new BMW R nine T. It is stripped down to its original configuration to be reborn as a unique piece.
The subframe has been trimmed and modified.
The seat has been reupholstered in perforated leatherette with contrasting diamond-shaped stitching. A smoked LED headlight has been installed, giving it that signature dark racer touch from Lord Drake Kustoms.
Front and rear fenders are made of carbon fiber. Along with the air intake, a new belly pan/spoiler is handcrafted to give a sportier touch to the lower section of this Nine T.
In the cockpit, we find a digital odometer, accompanied by café racer-style clip-on handlebars. LED turn signals are mounted on the grips. The exhaust system has been replaced with a handcrafted model by the LDK team.
This emphasizes the visual muscularity of the rear end.
Style and Functionality
What differentiates this custom bike from a show bike is that everything is approved for public use. The exhaust is an exception, a detail typical of Lord Drake Kustoms’ unique approach. Which in some countries, may not be street-legal. Due to its noise.
Low-profile tires, tuned front suspension, and a new Ohlins rear shock absorber are featured. Brushed metal details complete an aesthetic that’s as radical as it is balanced.
