First round in the Far East for Aprilia Racing: everything set for the GP of Japan
After the Grand Prix of San Marino and the Rimini Riviera, held just one week ago, Aprilia Racing flies to the Far East for the GP of Japan in Motegi. This is the first of a series of non-European races. Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martín are determined to demonstrate their competitiveness.
Marco Bezzecchi will be arriving in Motegi fresh from an extremely high-level performance in Misano. He took pole position, victory in the sprint race, and second place in the long race. This was the Italian’s ninth podium of the season. It is further confirmation of the increasingly more competitive feeling with his RS-GP25.
After a positive weekend in Misano and the subsequent tests the following Monday, Jorge Martín showed further progress in terms of speed and growth. He will turn up in Motegi with the goal of continuing to improve, adapt, and consolidate his feeling with the RS-GP25.
The Mobility Resort Motegi Circuit, previously known as Twin Ring Motegi, has a rather particular configuration. It is characterised by a few fast turns and many slow corners, with straights thrown in between. At 4,800 metres, there are 8 right-handers and 6 left-handers. This “stop & go” track is one of the most demanding for the brakes.

“I’m very much looking forward to getting to Japan. The test in Misano was extremely positive. We did a lot of testing and took a nice step forward in terms of ergonomics. Up to now it has been a path of adaptation – almost a pre-season – but from here on out, I’d like to focus on speed and performance. The Misano race allowed me to get close to where I want to be, although there is still a lot of work to do. We need to continue to improve and that will be our obsession throughout the rest of the season”.
