Gerloff And Kawasaki WorldSBK Team Get Back To Business
Garrett Gerloff (Kawasaki WorldSBK Team) ended the traditional long WorldSBK break with a two-day Motorland Aragon test session. This session was conducted alongside many of his 2025 WorldSBK rivals. The track action concluded on Tuesday, 26 August.
At 5.077km in length, the Motorland Aragon layout provides a large-scale testing backdrop. It featured rain at the beginning of the first day and the very end of the second day. Day two in particular was run in hot weather conditions.
The Motorland Aragon circuit itself will also reappear on the WorldSBK calendar this season. Specifically, it forms the tenth round of the year between 26-28 September.
This latest test for Garrett on his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR was therefore a significant one. This was especially true as he had to miss the Sunday races in Hungary in late July after suffering a back injury on Saturday.
His overall performance at Motorland proved that he had recovered well enough to ride at a good pace. Additionally, his Kawasaki WorldSBK Team had new material and settings for their American rider to try out. He found some real positive steps after evaluating the new material. Consequently, he leaves this track session with renewed confidence and determination.
With Motorland being the next round after the forthcoming Magny Cours weekend (held between 5-7 September), the test provided a head start. This was significant in terms of set-up for when the entire WorldSBK paddock returns to Spain to race for real.
Despite concentrating on test materials and overall bike set-up, Garrett secured a best single lap time of 1’49.928, which he set on the morning of the final day.
Garrett Gerloff stated:
“The test was good. I think it was productive because we had some new parts to try. In the end, I think I like everything, so we are going to keep using those. It is always nice to go to a test, try something, and for it to work and feel better. I think, all in all, it was a productive test. It was also nice to ride again, finally, before the Magny Cours round. I think we are in a good place to do well.”
