Kyle Ryde Takes Back-to-Back Titles at Brands Hatch Finale
The highly anticipated finale of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch saw Kyle Ryde (Nitrous Competitions Racing) secure back-to-back titles in the third and final race of the weekend. In doing so, Ryde became the first champion to celebrate a title defence since 2017.
He also sealed his fate as champion with an impressive 60th consecutive points finish.
The Nitrous Competition rider demonstrated outstanding consistency throughout 2025. He achieved six race wins and 15 podiums to finish 20 points ahead of title rival and Yamaha counterpart, Bradley Ray (Raceways Yamaha).
Ryde’s title clinching campaign at Brands Hatch delivered a trio of hard-fought results. The Nitrous Competitions squad secured a duo of podium finishes in the opening two races. Then a wet sixth place in Race 3 rewarded them with the crown. Friday started well for both Ray and Ryde. The duo finished first and second respectively in the opening session of the weekend.
The pair went on to qualify first and second on the grid for Race 1, both eager to make steps towards attaining championship glory.
The opening race of the weekend kept the title fight alive. Ray and Ryde finished second and third respectively after 20 laps of battle. As 27 points separated the pair, the stage was set for a Sunday showdown in the fight for the championship.
Sunday’s 12-lap sprint race saw Ray retain his spot in pole position and make a strong getaway from lights out. The Ray and Ryde duo made numerous passes in pursuit of the lead. Paddock Hill Bend, Druids, and Clearways hosted much of the action. A charging Redding found himself in the mix with a handful of laps remaining. Then, a commanding overtake on Ryde at Hawthorn Bend rewarded him the victory.
Ryde took a crucial second-place finish at the chequered flag, just 0.051 seconds ahead of rival Ray.
This extended his lead in the standings to 30 points heading into the final race of 2025. The field sat on a damp grid ahead of the final race of the season. With his eyes on victory, Ray set off from second on the grid and Ryde just behind in fourth.
Strong from the line, it was Ray who took the initial lead, fighting hard to keep R1 counterpart, Danny Kent (McAMS Racing) at bay. After 20 laps of running amongst the top three, Ray brought the Raceways Yamaha R1 home in second.
Ryde aboard the Nitrous Competitions Yamaha rounded off a strong weekend with sixth. This result sealed his fate as the 2025 Bennetts BSB Champion.
The 2025 Brands Hatch Finale marked the end of an era for McAMS Racing’s team owners, Mar-Train. They rounded out their final weekend in the paddock in exceptional style, taking victory in the third and final race of the weekend.
Over the last two years, in the hands of Danny Kent, the McAMS Racing R1 has secured an impressive total of 15 podiums and four race victories.
