McAMS Racing and Danny Kent Show Strong Progress at Cadwell Park
The seventh round of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship saw McAMS Racing and Danny Kent take significant strides forward over the Bank Holiday weekend at Cadwell Park.
The family-run team demonstrated clear improvements from last year. They delivered faster lap times and built confidence heading into the season’s second half.
The weekend got off to a strong start for Kent and the #52 Yamaha R1. He smashed his personal best lap, posting a 1:25.856. This secured a strong position ahead of the season’s first Omologato Superpole session.
Sunday’s one-lap qualifying saw Kent nearly match his opening-day pace. He clocked a 1:25.918 to earn an impressive fourth place on the grid for the 18-lap charge.
At the start, he held his ground in fourth and chased podium positions throughout the opening lap.
However, a small setback on the second lap, when Kent slid through the grass at Mansfield, cut short what had been a promising start.
Undeterred, and after a big repair job on Sunday evening, Kent lined up mid-field for Monday’s Sprint Race. A strong launch off the line saw him hold ninth place. He stayed within striking distance of the leading group. Despite the challenging and narrow Cadwell Park layout limiting overtaking opportunities, Kent finished a solid ninth, just 7.9 seconds behind race winner Tommy Bridewell.
Starting tenth for the final race of the weekend, Kent pushed hard, navigating a competitive midfield. After some early battles, he gained ground in the closing stages.
He overtook Yamaha R1 counterpart Brad Ray to secure 11th place.
While the weekend didn’t fully reflect the team’s pace in the results, the improvements were clear. McAMS Racing and Kent leave Cadwell Park with valuable lessons in mind. Sitting fourth in the championship standings, they head to Donington Park just ten points shy of third place. They are ready to continue their push toward the top.

“Coming into the weekend, there were a lot of question marks after our performance here last year. Cadwell Park has always been a tricky circuit for me, but this year we were able to turn that around significantly. I improved my best lap time by over a second and found a really good feeling on the bike. A crash in yesterday’s opening race cost us a lot – Cadwell is so narrow and difficult to overtake on, so starting in the mid-field made it hard to make progress. Overall, it’s been a positive round. We dropped to fourth in the standings but are still within ten points of third. Up next is Donington Park, where the Yamaha R1 has been really strong in the past, so I’m excited to get back to work”
