Momentum High as McAMS Racing and Kent Target Thruxton Success
As the Bennetts British Superbike Championship returns to Thruxton this weekend, McAMS Racing and rider Danny Kent are aiming to build on their recent momentum. They hope to extend their run of strong results.
Approaching Round 6 of the 2025 season, Kent sits fifth in the championship standings. He is just 32 points shy of third, following a standout performance at Brands Hatch. This performance saw the team climb two positions. It also gained them valuable momentum for the rounds ahead.
Last time out, Kent delivered a superb string of podium finishes for the McAMS Racing team. He consistently battled at the front and showcased strong race pace aboard the Yamaha R1.
In between rounds, the team enjoyed a productive weekend in Ireland at the Classic Bike Show.
Danny took advantage of the opportunity to get valuable track time, spinning some laps and clinching two wins. This further boosted McAMS Racing’s confidence ahead of the challenging Thruxton rounds.
After a challenging start to the year, that breakthrough weekend provided a crucial confidence boost. With the series now heading to Thruxton, a circuit where the R1 has historically thrived, optimism within the team is running high.
The McAMS-backed squad enjoyed a competitive outing at the Andover-based venue last year. They were fighting at the sharp end all weekend and securing an impressive pair of hard-fought podiums.
Over the past four seasons, the Yamaha R1 has remained unbeaten at Thruxton. McAMS Racing has notched an unbroken streak of 12 victories, underlining its dominance at the UK’s fastest circuit.
With that track record in mind, the family-run outfit is laser-focused on achieving their first win of the season.
Their goal: to continue Yamaha’s flawless run at Thruxton and solidify McAMS Racing’s standing as a front-running force in the championship.
A triple-header awaits, beginning with Free Practice 1 at 13:00 on Friday. With three races on the horizon, McAMS Racing is eager to capitalise on every opportunity. They aim to gather vital points in their championship campaign.
