THE JAPANESE GP IN NUMBERS 

900 – Francesco Bagnaia’s win is the 900th for Italy across all classes of Grand Prix racing.

26 – Bagnaia’s win is his 26th in the premier class, which means he is now alone in 10th on the list of riders 

with most premier class wins, after Dani Pedrosa and Eddie Lawson (31 wins each). 

20 – With Bagnaia, Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez, this is Ducati’s 20th podium lockout extending their record as the manufacturer with most MotoGP™️ podium lockouts (1-2-3 finishes). 

13 – This is Ducati’s 13th win in a row which is a new personal record for the Bologna factory. Ducati is the first manufacturer with 13 MotoGP wins in a row since Honda from the 2001 Pacific GP to the 2002 German GP. 

8 – This is Bagnaia’s eighth win of 2024, making it his best premier class season in terms of wins. The last rider who scored eight (or more) wins in a MotoGP season is Marc Marquez with 12 in 2019. Only Marc Marquez, Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo have won eight or more MotoGP Grand Prix races in a single season. 

4 – Match point: with a 167-point advantage over Prima Pramac Racing, Ducati Lenovo Team will have a chance to clinch their fourth Teams’ Championship in MotoGP at the Australian GP. 

1 – David Alonso became the first Colombian rider to clinch a Grand Prix world title. Colombia therefore also becomes the 20th different nation with at least one Grand Prix World Championship.
