THE MALAYSIAN GP IN NUMBERS

#TheRematch – After Bagnaia won ahead of Martin in Malaysia, the MotoGP title fight will now be decided between the two at the final round for the second successive year. This is also the third year in a row that the MotoGP title will decided at the final race of the year.

50 – Enea Bastianini finished third for the 50th podium of his Grand Prix career.
50 – With Bagnaia, Martin and Bastianini, Ducati becomes the first manufacturer to reach the milestone of 50

GP podiums taken in a single MotoGP season. The previous record was 43 set by Ducati in 2023.

24 – With a 24-point advantage over Bagnaia, Martin has a chance to clinch the title in the final Tissot Sprint of the season if he scores two more points than Bagnaia.

18 – This is Ducati’s 18th win so far this season, beating their record in the class set last year. It’s their 16th win in a row which is a new personal record for the Bologna factory. Ducati is the first manufacturer with 16 MotoGP wins in a row since Honda’s run of 22 from Malaysia 1997 to Assen 1998.

15 – Since the opener in Qatar, Bagnaia and Martin have both scored 15 podiums, equalling the record of the most podiums in a single season for a Ducati rider, set by Bagnaia last year.

13 – With 13 wins so far, David Alonso extends his record for the most wins in a single lightweight class season. Alonso is also the first rider to take six lightweight class wins in a row since Valentino Rossi in 1997 (from France to Great Britain).

10 – This is Bagnaia’s 10th win of 2024, making it his best premier class season in terms of wins. The last rider who scored 10 (or more) wins in a MotoGP season is Marc Marquez with 12 in 2019. The club of riders who have 10 or more wins in a single MotoGP season currently only comprises Marc Marquez (13 – 2014, 12 – 2019), Valentino Rossi (11 – 2002, 2005) and Casey Stoner (10 – 2007, 2011).

6 – Fabio Quartararo finished P6, which is his and Yamaha’s best result so far this year. In addition, his teammate Alex Rins finished P8 for his best result with Yamaha so far. This is the first double top ten for the factory this year.
