Upcoming race – Motul Grand Prix of Japan
- The Mobility Resort Motegi circuit, located in the Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, is an icon on the Moto2 calendar. A technical circuit featuring eight right hand corners and six left hand corners, it has a bit of everything to exploit the strengths of the Triumph 765cc triple engine, seen on the Street Triple 765 RS across the 19 lap race
- Last year, riders used first gear for just 5.25% of the lap with the majority (36.64%) spent in third gear. 1.63% of time is spent in top gear on Motegi’s longest straight (762m)
- The Motegi venue saw riders hit a maximum speed of 266.4km/h in 2024, with an average lap speed of 150.4 km/h which made it the slowest average lap on the 2024 calendar

“The San Marino weekend delivered another fantastic race and a 10th different victor in the 2025 Moto2 World Championship, as Celestino Vietti added his name to the winners list. The home rider delivered a near-perfect weekend, topping practice on Friday and qualifying on the front row before using his Triumph power to take him to a lights-to-flag victory. Barry Baltus was really impressive, he left none of his 765cc speed unused as he burst through the pack to take second with rookie Daniel Holgado adding another podium to his tally. This weekend, it’s a fresh challenge as the Moto2 World Championship arrives in Japan for the Motul Grand Prix of Japan at the Mobility Resort Motegi, a technical circuit which will require the linear power and grunt of the 765cc engine to get the most out of the 2.98-mile circuit.”

- Winner: 7 points – Celestino Vietti for leading the race from the first lap to the chequered flag to take his first win since Malaysia 2024, and becoming the 10th Moto2 winner this season
- Second: 6 points – Barry Baltus for an impressive ride having dropped back to come back through the pack with impressive pace, taking time out of Vietti lap by lap to finish second, claiming his fifth podium of the season, just 0.747s from the win
- Third: 5 points – Senna Agius for his best result since his fourth place in Aragon, coming through the pack and putting pressure on the front group until the end
