Ryde vs Ray: Yamaha set for Bennetts British Superbike Championship Showdown
The stage is set for the last face-off between Kyle Ryde (Nitrous Competitions Racing) and Bradley Ray (Raceways Yamaha). The 11th and final round of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship is set for Brands Hatch this weekend.
Three races stand before the championship contenders. They are separated by 30 points with an elevated 105 points on the table from the weekend ahead.
Ray enjoyed a dominant start to the season.
However, three crucial DNFs have left him chasing his title hopes into the last round. Ryde has shown remarkable consistency all year, finishing every race. He has amassed 445 points to Ray’s 415.
The previous round at Oulton Park was plagued by unpredictable weather. It wreaked havoc on the grid and tyre strategies, eventually giving mixed results for both championship contenders. The Raceways Yamaha team came out with one win over the three races. They clawed back a precious championship point, while Ryde maintained his steady form.
If Kyle Ryde can secure the championship this weekend, he will become the first rider to win back-to-back Bennetts British Superbike titles since Shane Byrne in 2017. Such a win would cement his place among the sport’s elite and take Yamaha’s fourth British Superbike crown from the last five seasons.
McAMS Racing will be looking ahead for a strong weekend as Danny Kent returns to action for the team.
Kent was absent from Oulton Park to fully recover from a hand injury sustained in early September. However, he is now returning stronger for the season finale. He currently sits in eighth place in the BSB championship, just 20.5 points behind Scott Redding.
Glenn Irwin will be seeking a successful outing at Brands Hatch. He continues to progress on his Nitrous Competitions Racing R1. Despite a challenging weekend at Oulton, Glenn came away with a top finish of sixth place. This equals his season’s best result and shows steady improvement with the team.
Brands will also play host to the final round of the 2025 Pirelli National Sportbike Championship. Rossi Banham equalled his season’s best result last time out at Oulton Park, taking sixth place and 14 points. He will be looking to continue his progress on his R7 and end his season on a high note.
