Vegan Motorcycle Leathers? Scott Redding debuts new non-leather race suit

Off the back of his successful debut with the MGM Bonovo Racing Ducati team at Phillip Island, fans take a closer look at Scott’s new motorcycle leathers that despite not entirely vegan, very environmentally friendly.

For the 2025 season Scott has partnered up with Virus Power. An Italian company who specialises in creating motorcycle race suits that contain NO leather whatsoever. They instead, are made out of advanced textile fibres which deliver high impact performance and resistance. Additionally, they’re able to be recycled too!

Motorcycle leathers must achieve a AAA rating in order to be used in racing. This AAA rating has predominantly been achieved quickly by leather such as kangaroo, cow or goat. Leather for years has been used in safety suits due to its ability to withstand abrasion and strength at high speed. Sting ray is even a material known to be used in racing gloves, by Held.

Virus Power, who made Scott’s suit – have a mission to allow safety to meet sustainability. They have over 15 pilots worldwide using their environmentally-friendly race suits.

Scott is racing for MGM Bonovo Racing this year onboard a Ducati. A bike in which Scott has rich history with. In the opening round at Phillip Island, Scott finished in the top 5 in every race. He’s currently placed in 5th position in the championship standings as a result.
