Yamaha Motor UK Back on Track for 2025 Bennetts BSB Season Opener

The Bennetts British Superbike Championship is set to return this May Bank Holiday weekend! Excitement is building as teams, including Yamaha, prepare to compete for the title.

The series heads to Oulton Park for the 2025 season opener.
 

Over recent weeks, Yamaha Motor UK’s line-up on the BSB grid has changed dramatically!

Three one-bike teams are now set to compete with the Yamaha R1. These teams are Raceways Yamaha, OMG Racing and McAMS Racing by Mar-Train.

While reigning Champion Kyle Ryde remains with OMG Racing, championship contender and former title holder, Bradley Ray, is back on the grid.

He returns with Raceways Yamaha, headed by former McAMS Yamaha (2017-2023) Team Owner Steve Rodgers. Rodgers is from Fleetwood-based premier Yamaha Motor UK dealer Raceways Motorcycles.
 
No stranger to BSB success, Rodgers’ team amassed a total of 42 BSB victories, 107 podiums, and the 2021 teams, manufacturers and riders’ crowns. They achieved this with Tarran Mackenzie (2021) with McAMS Yamaha.

Meanwhile, the 2015 Moto3 World Champion, Danny Kent, remains on the R1 for a second consecutive year.

He is under the family-run Mar-Train stable of McAMS Racing. Tim Martin’s outfit looks to build on a strong 2024. During that year, Kent claimed his debut Bennetts BSB win at Brands Hatch in October.
 
After a productive period of pre-season testing, all three teams are keen to get stuck into their individual championship campaigns. They share the mutual goal of fighting for the 2025 title across the series’ 11 rounds. This year also sees a return to the iconic circuit of Assen later in the year.
 
The upcoming 2025 Bennetts BSB season opener is set to kick off this Saturday with Free Practice 1 at 13:00.

The Bank Holiday race weekend will feature a trio of opportunities. Teams aim to score points in the first races of the season.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back aboard the Yamaha R1 at Round 1 this weekend. Last week’s test went well, we demonstrated competitive speed. I feel confident on the bike as we head towards the season opener. Pre-season testing in general has been positive, I’m feeling mega keen to go racing and put in the work where it matters the most. The team and I have worked well so far. I’m excited to build on the progress already made, and hopefully come away from Oulton Park with three strong results.”

“I’m looking forward to the opening round of the year. The team and I made good progress last week at Oulton Park. Consequently, heading back to the same track for Round 1 is a great feeling. We’ve had a positive pre-season and made several steps forward. Our aim is to be as well prepared as possible for the year ahead. I’m confident in the package we have at our disposal. As a result, we head into the Bank Holiday weekend intending to fight at the front and be competitive.”
